Alliance for Planet Earth is the student organization at the College of Charleston. Our purpose is to promote awareness of social and environmental issues relevant to the college community and encourage students to become active citizens in regards to the environment.
All college students and faculty are welcome at our meetings which are held every Thursdays at 6:30 pm in the 4th floor of the Stern Student Center. Once it starts getting darker after 7:30 pm, we will meet on the cistern.

-Creating an "adopt a building" program for all student clubs to help the campus run energy efficient.
-Getting Green initiatives in the new science center on campus
-Cleaning up the community through street sweeps and beach sweeps.
-Collaborations with other local environmental groups.
-Awareness of fair trade, vegetarian lifestyles.
-Working to put on larger events such as (but not limited to): Earth Day, Concerts, Workshops, Trips (kayaking, camping), sending students to conferences, and helping with events like Car free week.
-Helping petition to hire a sustainability coordinator on College of Charleston's campus.
